Default what broke this year?

since season is winding down (at least up north here) was just wondering what broke on your car this year that had to be fixed. not talking what you wanted to do. i only put on around 400 miles since we had so much rain like today but so far i had to replace a broken motor mount and tighten a loose cable on my starter. also had a vacuum line come of from when motor mount broke. fan also cracked shroud when motor mount broke. motor mount caused all my problems.

No problems with the Vette this year but many of us are "broke"

Broke? Only my patience a couple times.

Nuttin' a break from pretending to be a mechanic and a cold beer couldn't fix.

Several... but this one's the worst.

Hood release cable broke. Since the hood latches were not latching well, opening the hood was not a real problem.

I tried to pull out the remaining part of the cable, but it seemed to be stuck. So I pulled hard on the release handle and the handle came off leaving the remaining cable stuck inside the little metal pipe inside which the cable sits.

2 hours later I had the whole drivers side dash panel out and the steering column collapsed trying to remove the hood release cable bracket assembly.

nothing major this year. just a couple little things here and there that seemed to fix them selfs.

thought my alternator was going out one day, so i took it in to have it tested. worked fine so i threw it back in the car and havnt had it act up again.

car was running like crap at the same time, spark plug wire fell off.

thats about the extent of it this year.

Q-Jet on my '75 went south. I blame the crappy gas. Replaced it with a BG Street Demon.

1. Broke my ring gear

2. Cracked the differential cover. (from broken ring gear)

3. Broke off 3 of the 4 bolts holding the wiper door to its frame/hinge and had to take it in to be tapped.

4. One rock chip in the original windshield that was small enough to be repaired.

5. Stripped fuel inlet in the carb.

My fuel pump pushrod went bad. I assume it took out the lobe on the cam too so I installed a Holley red electric pump. Runs great now.

My windshield wipers went out on the way back from Carlisle show 2 Friday's ago. I haven't gone through the troubleshooting yet to figure out the problem.

Having hot start problems that I also need to trouble shoot.

Except for that, I'm good to go.

The only unplanned event was my waterpump starting leaking. Fixed it.
Oh yeah, one turn signal bulb and one parking light too. Done.

Split upper rad hose, led to replacing the thermostat inlet cover as the old one was almost corroded away where the hose fits on. Threw in a new thermostat as well since they're cheap and the cover was off anyway.

1. drivers side power window switch, goes up but not down. On back-order.

2. 300 watt 2 channel amp fried itself, replaced with a 750 watt 4 channel (actually a good thing after all).

that is all.

Hmmm, lessseee here: New battery last month. Got a new Optima which I've always wanted. New rear calipers last Winter ... Oh yea then the broken valve spring which led to the purchase of the new aluminum AFR 195's.

Then of course, having to re-tweak everything and get it back on the Dyno for a tuning session. <VBG>

Yep that's about it ....

Default Nothing!

Absolutely Nothing!

Between all the rain & work - only put 500 miles on the old girl! Usually do 2 - 3000! Don't know how or why but it seemed to rain almost every weekend here.
