Can anyone tell me where the best place is to buy a radiator support? For my 75. I started out doing headers and exhaust now i'm replacing all the water hoses and A/C lines. And cleaning up the engine bay. I noticed my radiator looked like it seen it better days so I got a new one. Pulled it out and my radiator support is junk! Funny how one project just snowballs into five or six projects!
Thanks Craig
I bought a radiator support from Ecklers for my '76. The edges of the various stamped components were sharp enough to cut my fingers so I had to blast, de-burr and re-paint the frame. The original paint was too glossy to be factory-correct. There are half the number of spot welds than my original frame has. One of the top bracket mounting holes is in the wrong position so I have to enlarge the hole in the bracket.
This is (apparently) a US-made part. I checked before I bought it and shipped it to the UK.
I wouldn't buy another one from Ecklers, but other vendors may use the same supplier and if they do then I'd watch the quality.
When paying like 200 bux about 12 years ago for my '72 replacement core, I noted the weight of the two units....the new one was about 1/2 the weight, the metal is a lot thinner too....
I drilled drain holes in the bottom backside so any water is free to drain....I also sprayed paint in the bottom pretty good too....
