Attended a Corvette only show this past Sunday at the old Malcolm Konner Chevy dealership in Paramus NJ (now called Paramus Auto Mall). It's the same dealer I bought my first new car from....a 1968 Camaro. This dealer was famous for selling Corvettes back in the day and they still have a 2nd floor devoted to Corvettes only. Had a good time catching up with friends and taking home a 2nd place trophy in the 68>82 Concourse class......my friend Hank got 1st with his Donneybrooke Green 70 LT1 (well deserved). Here are a few pics from the show.....the Atomic Orange ZR1 blew me away!!
Hi GQ,
Thank's very much for the pictures! I like the new cars, but still like the old ones BETTER.
I was in Hawthorne and Fair Lawn on Saturday!
Regards,
Alan
My 74 was a Malcolm Konner Chevy car....I remember driving past that dealership as a kid growing up in north Jersey and looking at all the Vettes upstairs through the glass as we drove by.
That is a beautiful group of very fine cars right there.
Thanks for sharing. Some day I hope to have a C6 ZR1,
I wonder how much I can get for my right arm?
I had stopped by on Sunday and was surprised at how 'light" the attendance was. So much so I took the time to count the cars. There was only about 45 show cars. What happened? This show used to be one of the best Corvette shows around. The place would be full. Even the service dept repair bays would be full. I got Zora and Reeeves Calloway's autograph there. Dr Ruth was even a guest one year. I guess it's just another sign of the times but it is sad to see.
On a positive note that green '70 LT1 is outstanding and was in my opinion for what ever that's worth the nicest car there. The car is beautiful and deserving of what ever award(s) it received. Yes those ZR1s are incredible machines. Both the orange and yellow cars gain your attention but I'll take the blue one that was upstairs though at 121K that's not going to happen.
Jerry, congrats on your effort! Wow, that LT-1 must have been pretty special... to have been able to nudge you out!! I've always thought, your Roadster was at the top of the heap! Muddy
btw: because of you...I still wipe out my exhaust bezels after each run
Thanks Don, much appreciated....and I'm sorry if I got you wiping those bezels.
No worries...wouldn't have it any other way now! Just a little shot of degreaser, and out she comes Unfortunately... now, the Harley gets the same treatment. Muddy
