A recent garage sweep for a relative, uncovered a 1969 2dr class AU corvette. The engine is a beautiful 427 and mileage is about 61K. It needs a cleaning but I do have pics. Guys and gals, I need some help. What is she? Basic, Mako, Manta Ray? I do know that the owner did body work for street rods and stock-piled an era of classics. He did cover the headlights and hide them below. The driver lights are in the lower well. Some work has been done to the front and hood. Basically any knowledge you possess that can help me derive a legend for this machine would be greatly appreciated. I can't find any good info except for this site, so I was thinking you guys might have a good clue. Thank you for your time and words.
Back window is not from a 69.
Later model hood.
Later model mirrors ?
Bumper extensions were from later year cars. 69 had chrome bumpers front and rear.
I believe 69's had green markings on the guages.
Steering wheel is late 70s.
Center guage cluster looks more like late 70s.
If this car was an original 69 and had this much modification it isn't worth much as a collector car.

The VIN will give you the year. Looks like it might be a '69 with a Can-Am kit added. Hood looks like Eckler's and Eckler used to offer the wide body kit.

Another person suggested that it could be a greenwood. Take a look at the turbo GT. but greenwood started in the late 70s. I'll be out at the shop today and I'll look for markings.
Since it has had a major body-kit installed, it originally could have been *anything*. The engine-specs listed on the data-plate on the center-console below the shifter would help pin that down. Also would be interesting to see the structure around where the windshield-wipers sit to see if it formerly housed the vacuum-actuator for the wiper-door.
Looks like it might have been a well-done custom from about 20 years ago, but the vin-tag on the driver-side windshield pillar would be your best starting-point as to what it was originally.
So I have come to the conclusion that she WAS a 1969. She now has the greenwood turbo GT body kit added to her. A custom of some kind, what are you thinking in value?? Less for the differences or more for the effort?? Rather, what do I do with her?
I really appreciate all the input from you all. Your knowledge is priceless!
