Default another lifting the body question

I am lifting the body off the frame on a 77 vette for local vette owner. $$$ $$$ I have lifted my 68 body of the fame before but the whole front clip was off so it wasn't much of a challenge. I have worked around 12 hours today and got the rear bumper off, 6 mounting bolts and lots more. Long day but lots of progress for just getting it this morning. I have never lifted a body with 5 mph bumper on it so my question is do I have to remove the front 5 mph bumper and if so what should I disconnect? Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

On the frame you will find the support arm. 6 bolts on both sides. Once they are removed you will be able to lift the body with the front bumper and support beam. You wlill need to support the beam while you are lifting because it will add a lot of wieght to the front.

You can unbolt the bumper structure from the front clip and leave it attached to the frame. I would recommend against lifting the body with the heavy crash structure attached. You might see your $$$ turn into -$$$ really fast.

Is there a similar way to detach the rear bumper from the frame like the front?

I don't know what that is. It is just a peice of metal that cover the top part of the light. There is some weird stuff on this car like there is a window screen were the comdensor should be.

There should be. I don't remember exactly how I did it, but when I took the body off the 79 I think we removed the outer skin and the bumper was accessible. It might not even be physically attached to the outer skin. When the body came off it didn't have the crash structures attached at either end.
