Default Engine Suffix help

I have a small block with only F0207HCH on the engine block pad. Looks like Flint, Feb 7... but I can't find the suffix HCH on the list of codes. Also there is no vin# on the pad. Can anyone help?
Thanks!

Hi RT,
I believe an engine without a VIN stamp indicates an engine bought from GM over the parts counter.
Regards,

F = Flint, and also tells us that is it 1966 or earlier (they started using V for Flint in 1967)

0207 is assembly date (February 7th)

HC is engine suffix code. Possilities are:

1965 327, 250 hp, 4bbl, PG in a pass car
1966 327, 275 hp, 4 bbl, PG in a pass car

The last H tells us that the engine had a Holley carb. Based on that, it is most likely a 66 327, 275 hp, Holley 4 bbl, PG, in a pass car.

HCR code would have meant it had a Rochester carb.

VIN derivatives were not consistently stamped on passenger cars until the late 60s.
