Default Jet Hot Treated Hooker Headers

Everyone, I was wondering how the Jet Hit coating was holding up on your headers. I'm thinking of the Extreme Silver. I have a 70 SBC ZZ4 with Hooker side pipes.

This is a limited view, but this is the 4th year since I got my Hookers Jet coated.....so far, so good, but I can see some slight wear. No complaints, though, as non-coated headers will start rusting out immediately.

Mine, sad to say, have rust marks on them.

Previous set had 5 years with no problems at all. This set I have had about 3 years and they still look very good.

When I first got my headers (Jet Hot direct) they were so gorgeous I wanted to put them in my living room with a glass top and use them as a coffee table.

So, I was severely bummed to see rust spots on them.. : To their credit, when I called Jet Hot, they offered to recoat them for me even tho the warranty period had expired (Think it is 3 yrs and I called them at 3.5 but I owned them for a year before mounting them). Problem was it would be such a pia for me to take them off and re-install I just live with them as they are.

Just be aware that they may not be 100% bulletproof.

Wish I could do it over...I'd go with stainless.

Got mine done a couple years ago . They have not discolored at all and I havent had to clean them yet . They still look like brand new. Before the JetHot I was measuring 520 f. using an InfraRed Thermometer 3" from where the Header pipe meets the Cylinder head ; now I get 208 f. with the engine is fully warmed up. Incredible insulator.

Everyone thanks for the information. I have 4 years on my headers that were powder coated and they don't look very good. If you went with stainless wouldn't the headers still discolor

I have a $25 off coupon for Jet Hot. It is yours if you decide to go with the Jet Hot coatings.

PM your address.
