I will very soon painting the plastic seat buckets and a few other plastic parts from my 81.
Whats the best way to do this. I have the die/paint. should i sand and prime, or just clean and then apply the die?
Die is for vinyl. NOT Plastic, clean them really good, prep them and spray them.
I just finshed my buckets they came out very nice,
When you spray them only apply a thin coat of paint,
you don't want it thick and blending over the texture/ grain of the plastic.
Do not prime, that will in all the texture/grain area's.
thanks for all the help. I just cleaned them real good with denatured alcohol. the trick was getting it to spray even. took me a couple times. I went to light the first time and it came out very dull. I found what worked best for me was spraying the buckets just so they looked wet and it had a nice shine to it after they dried.
