Starter does not fit
I just recently purchased a crate motor from Scoggin Dickey, ZZ4 sb for my 81. I purchased the motor plus the kit which included what was to be a matched CVR high performance starter. My problem is, the starter is so tight to the engine block that the oil dip stick cannot be installed.
Is this a common problem?
Is the starter suppose to be that tight to the block to begin with?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Mark, you should be able to clock the starter on the mount to give you an angle that will give you lots of clearance. If you look at the gear end of the starter you will see some countersunk allen head screws. Just remove those and rotate the mount to the position that will give you clearance.
