What yrs are the steel rear spring interchangable. I have a '76 . Found a '79 being parted w/ a new steel spring. Will it fit? Thanks

I took a look at a couple vendors and they list the standard leaf springs as 63-77 and 78-82, but I am not sure what the difference is.

The width changed during 78 from 2 1/4" 63-77 & some 78 to 2 1/2". The 78-79 were heavier.

Depending on the width of the new spring on the 79. If its 2 1/4 it will fit but if its 2 1/2 "AND" you still have the older design diff cover with the large diameter bolts it will not.
So you need to know if your rear cover has been changed to the smaller bolt design and what the new spring width is.
