Default Help with interior lights. Please Help!

Just restored my whole interior on my 1981 corvette. I changed everything but left the wiring completely alone. Just checked and all the fuses are good. I turn the interior light switch and only the foot lights, and glove compartment light turn on. The speedometer & tachometer light, center bezel lights, shifter light and dome light don't turn on. I did check and power is going to the speedometer & tachometer; the turn signals working and the parking brake light working too. The center bezel has power too; the clock works, and all other gauges work too. I don't know why lights aren't working. What could it be?
Thanks

If memory serves, that is correct. With lights off and the doors closed, turning the switch **** should turn on only the interior lights. Check the owner's manual.

the dash and console lights only come on when you pull the headlight swith out to either parking lights or all the way out to headlights.

The courtesy lights only come on when the door is opened or you turn the headlight switch all the way.

When I turn it only the glove box light and foot lights turn on the dome light doesn't, also when you pull the switch out, all the exterior lights turn on but the center bezel, and the speedometer and tachometer don’t light up.

I'm guessing glove box and dome light are crossed.

Correct.

Check the fuse (again) for the IP lights. Turn the **** to check low to bright on the setting.

When redoing the interior, did you happen to loosen the dash harness system ground on the driver's door post?

i dont think so. i just checked my driver side post and the only thing i saw was the running light door sensor button. where on the driver side door post is the dash harness grounded?

Up under the dash, driver's side. You may need a flash light to see it.

Hello,
I ´ve had also the problem with burning out fuses when using the headlight switch.
I put it out and cleaned the inner el. contacts, they were very dirty.
After that there was no more burning out fuse and : the instrument lights shined brighter thane before !
