Any suggestions for an insurance company? My vehicle is a 72' original with 75,000 miles, coupe, 6 speed. I am looking at American Collectors and the premium is ~$180/yr with $500 deductible and 300k/300k.
Also, I doubt road side assistance is something I'm interested in... my only experience with that the wouldn't tow to my home but instead to the nearest service facility...
You need to have an "Agreed Value" policy...not a "Stated Value" policy or any other kind of collector car policy. It is the only way to protect yourself for the car's worth in case of a total loss. I doubt that Safeco offers such a policy...but I've been wrong lots of times.
Hagerty will order a low-rise 'ramp' trailer to pick up your car and they will take it wherever you want. I used that service for the first time earlier this year. No hassle, first 10 miles are free (my house was 9.6 miles away)...it was absolutely painless. Hagerty would be my recommendation.
