Default Value on unused unopened items?

Hey guys sorry for such a general question but I was wondering what would be a good value on some unopened stuff I have. I might not be able to sell everything with my car and I have a Crate Motor, suspension kit, transmission... ect ect all unopened and just wanted to know what a good % value to sell them would be. I also have SLP Hyperblack rims and a few other things I might sell for a lot less just to get rid of them.

If they are aftermarket stuff that has a fixed price, not GM NOS stuff, ask what you paid for them. Then you can go down a few bucks if someone wants a package deal or such. Why not get what you paid for them? If it's NOS stuff, sky's the limit depending on the part........................

I think you're right on NOS stuff but I disagree on aftermarket. I think if you ask what you paid for it, no one will even talk to you unless they're clueless on what it's worth. If you buy from Summit or Jegs, you have a warranty and recourse if something goes wrong. If you buy privately, probably none of these apply. Additionally, the catalog/online companies are good at minimizing shipping costs. Private sellers are not so often shipping on big items become prohibitive.

I think for aftermarket stuff, you'll be fortunate to get 2/3 of what you paid.

I unlike many vette builders have a budget and spending lots of time hunting a good buy pays off for me,
Asking retail for after market parts that are still new is still to me wishing and to a degree gouging,
I am not saying low ball or steal it but I am savvy what after market parts retail at and if I saw an ad for pre-owned ( doesn't matter they are never used parts ) at retail, and whose retail some are higher than others after I get done laughing hard I move on to the next ad,

You didn't say for example which suspension kit you have,

When I go to sell something I look around at what I see others selling for and price mine the same, if I want to sell it why price it so high it never moves?

Im not looking to get anything over 75% back on what I spent. I mean I can see how someone would want a crate motor after it has been sitting in storage for a while who knows what kind of gremlins it might have. A lot of the parts I dont remember the exact price but I havent gone and looked at the packaging recently... I do know it was the VBP suspension kit that was $1000 or so. I just want a ballpark figure on what I can get back from my failed project

People are pretty honest on here. If anyone is interested I have the VBP suspension kit, a BTO 200-4R and a Yearone 350 (409hp 433tq)... I'll be reasonable with my Corvette friends.

I decided to keep the rims and sidepipe covers. I am however giving my old rims to a friend at work since his are looking a little rusty.

If your thinking that you may get lucky and have the original store buy them back you would almost have to give them away {ie} 20-25% of your cost if there good movers and if they will take them...because most of the parts are marked up twice there wholesale cost...cost a $1.00, sell for $2.00 ..And then to private individuals there is as some mentioned no warranty available between subsequent parties therefore buyer beware even though your parts are new...If you price them high they will probably not get sold.

I have a complete new parts inventory that I cant get 20 cents on a dollar at my cost...right now i`m ready to consider offers. I know it may not feel right but its a buyers market IF you can even find one..

Advertise your crate motor locally , without the shipping factor you might do OK.

Why would anyone consider paying full retail from someone who bought them from a store? Nobody would even talk to you long enough to "go down a few bucks."
