I havent posted in a while and got sidetracked from vettes with a 68 camaro and a 69 firebird... I have an opportunity to buy an 80 L-82 with what appears to be 31k original miles. There are some docs from the early 90's where the car was still in the teens in mileage. Car is extremely clean but has had a repaint that looks very nice except for the nose which needs repainted due to some bubbling. Rest of paint is very nice and no sign of any issues. Car runs fine and has only had typical wear parts replaced- all smog equipment, interior etc. seems original (except for radio and speakers).
I have been out of the loop with pricing for a few years and was hoping to get some pricing input. I looked at whats for sale but curious as to what a value range is on this car.
PS, PB, PW, AC, leather were all standard for the 80 models. Aluminum wheels? Glass tops? All in all, $13,500 doesn't sound bad. The L-82s were the last optional Corvette engines for a long, long time.

Sounds good, but you always want to see before you throw a price out. You have of course checked the engine numbers yourself and verified they match, yes?
Still, I wouldnt be shocked if it needs plenty of paint expense to get it right, by the descriptions Many "little bubbling, etc" problems take quite a few dollars to get right, especially matching the rest of the car.
Why would a car with such low miles need a repaint to begin with?
Price isnt horrendous, but Id still rather be closer to 10.
I have seen it in person. the paint issues are only on the nose. Im not 100% sure it is original 31k miles but the car is probably one of the cleanest most original looking c3's i have ever seen on the undercarriage and engine compartment. Numbers do match. I put a deposit on it today and agreed to 11k for it.
I have watched allot of Vettes this last month on eBay and other sites and I think the price is very good with what you have described and the low miles. Allot of similar car are priced much higher and are not selling. I think the economy has an impact. Many of the Vettes I have watched have been re-listed three times due to not selling.
At 13k you are at a fair start. Many are trying (not succeeding) to get 17K or more for the same quality.
