Default difference between 70 to 72 seats

Hello I would like to know if there is a difference between 1970 to 1972 seats covers I have been told that 70-71 seat covers have 2 inch pleats and 72-74 seat covers have 4 inch pleats ?is this the only difference are the seat frames the same? also what are your opinions about leather like seat covers are they good or is it better to go with 100% leather seat covers. much appreciated

I believe that the comfort weave vinyl seat covers are the same for all 3 years. The leather faced seat covers are the same for '70 & '71. 1972covers have the seat pleating running horizontal in direction as opposed to vertical (lengthwise).

The seat frame configuration is slightly different for '72, this year doesn't use the stainless clip to hold the lap belt when not in use. It also uses a weight sensor to trigger the "fasten seat belt" light in the center gauge housing.

Seat frames are the same, SEAT TRACKS differ for 72 and later Vettes. Any 70-76 seat frame will work but tracks are 70-71 same, 72-76 same. Seat frames also differ if shoulder harnesses weren't installed in 70-75 roadsters.
