Where did you get that big piece of foam for the upper rad. seal. The stock one on mine is just a little to narrow and on Davids car it is a 2 piece foam unit which does not seal it all up. I like the piece you have. It covers the whole area.
Home depot for that foam Gordan. It fit great in mine.
Seems like the electric fans would not be as affective with the condenser/AC system.
Although I guess the mechnical fan system worked with this....
But you do not need traditional shroud with the dewitt set up, correct?
Wiring is now complete and it looks like the fans work I fabricated a steel bracket for mounting the relays and ground connections. The bracket is mounted on the passenger side inner fender in the recessed area opposite the A/C compressor. I mounted it there so that the relays would be close to both the fan wiring harness and the 12V source off the starter terminal. I run the ignition lead inside the car directly to the IGN terminal on the fuse box. All grounds are on the mounting bracket which is grounded with a heavy cable to the engine block. Here are some pictures of the bracket and installation.
I'm curious, why do you use two relays? I was going to use one and wire in a manual override.
The kit from Dewits comes with a relay and wiring harness for each fan. I think one advantage of having them isolated from each other is that should a problem develop with one relay then at least you have one fan that operates. I am sure there may be other benefits as well.
I ran the relays right under the coolant jar. I ran the ground wires right to the frame and the hot lead off the starter like yours. I have had mine like that for years and Davids car is very similar. I tested just grounding out the sensor on his and all works fine. That should provide many years of trouble free service.
