Crappy weather here in northeast Missouri has kept me from getting the car out as I would like.
Bought my C3 6 years ago ... our youngest daughter was 4 at the time. Much to my disappointment, she was not impressed by the car. All she could see when going for a cruise with daddy was "tree limbs and power lines".
Fast forward to this afternoon. We had to run uptown for an errand ... weather was good, so I asked her if she wanted to go for a cruise in the vette. As we headed down the main drag, she made the comment 'gee daddy, I can see over the door now!!!'
those are cool moments
I took my teenage son for a good top end blast during the summer, he had a grin from ear to ear..he had only been in 4 cyl cars his whole life and had never experienced american muscle!

I can remember when my son had to put his elbows in the seat to prop himself up high enough to see over the dash. I think he may have been around 8 or so when I got my first vette or about 15 years ago. Time flies.
My daughter is 12 and has been exposed to Street Rods, Hot Rods, Muscle Cars all her life. She (as most soon to be teenagers) now is old enough to have lots of opinions. She has been involved with my '68 Corvette build from day one and has expressed likes and dislikes as well as offered her input on the direction the project should take. Of course all this has an underlying purpose. "I can't wait till I'm old enough to drive it." Yes life is good!
I have pictures of my son in a car seat in mine. Now he is 16 and 5'10" tall. Time sure does fly. We recently went on the Kerbeck Toys 4 Tots run. He decided he would rather ride with my brother in law in his 67 Resto mod. Can't understand why. I rode solo for the trip. Someday he will probably be driving me in it.

I'm one proud daddy!
What a great story. You only have better moments to come!
I bought a black '96 C-4 with mods almost 5 years ago. I kept telling my lovely wife before I bought it that it would be the "perfect relationship vehicle." She would always smile with that "we women know better" kinda smile. But it turned out to be. I would take her--or one of my daughters--out on the beautiful back roads here in Kentucky. Top off, hair blowing, Borlas purring. ... and occasional rubber laying. Then we'd stop for ice cream or coffee.
ALL of the teen girls loved going out with dad. (I think my lady did too, just not as often.) Once I checked them out in driving it, they would take friends out on the same back roads and have fun.
Before I sold it a year ago or so, my oldest said:
"That's the best thing that's ever happened to our family."
Now I have the black '79. The story continues. Life is good. I am thankful.
Took all my neices and nephews for rides a few years ago at a family reunion- all loved the ride and most said so except Emily who was about 4 at the time- I asked her- did she like the ride- she said the sky was pretty- all she could see-
My younger son (11) still thinks the front wheels are coming off the ground. Of course it's just those beautiful fender bulges rising from a quick start.
