Default advice for radio replacement

hey i would like to get some advice in the area of my radio replacement. i am purchased a corvette replacement radio for my 73 coupe that i am restoring. before i got the car the other owner cut the radio bezel and installed a single din radio slot in place of the stock radio. now that i am at the point of installing the radio i won't work because the radio area has been cut out. so do i buy a new bezel and tear the dash back out to replace the bezel with the radio cutouts or do i just go buy a single din radio and install it in the spot. what would you guys do

If you have already bought an original radio or a reproduction, you pretty much have to go on and get what ya need to do it right. If it being or looking original is still important to you? If not, get a new system, but then you will most likely end up getting into higher end speakers, amps and all that as well.. If my original stuff still works ok?, I am going that way, I can always upgrade later down the road..

thanks for the reply, i have installed new corvette replacement speakers in the dash and kick panels. the car is not # matching but i have tryed to keep it as true as possible. i have a 77 coupe that the radio would fit in but thats the next project, and it will need a whole new system in it.

I would probably sell the 'clone' radio and just buy something that would fit the cluster panel you have now. That assumes that you can install it without having to remove the cluster panel anyway.
