The question still remains. Has anyone actualy had experience with or seen the Alsa chrome paint. The auto grade paint sounds good, but I'm worried about being able to touch it up.
Some info from a painter I know who's used it. The Alsa paint DOES work and looks just like it does on their website. But, it's VERY hard to spray. VERY particular about how you put it on, VERY particular about the clear that goes over it. If you don't do it right, it ends up kind of aluminum spray paint looking, and not mirror shiney. You'll have to exparament with it to get your technique down. If you get any dust or dirt in it, you have to live with it or start over again, you can't sand it out. Since the clear is a standard automotive grade clear, it will be as durable as any other base/clear paint job. No chance you'll be able to match or blend it if you get a chip though.
To sum up, it will do exactly what they say it will, but it's very touchy when it comes to application technique.
I've used Alsa's version and the Xotics paint lines version. I would not use it out of a spray can, the "silver" part needs to be sprayed on very light/dry which is difficult with a spray can (I use a MiniJet 3 for bigger parts and an airbrush for smaller parts).
Its a very labour intensive process, as its basically two nice paint jobs in one. I nice, cut and buffed black paint job as the base and then the chrome part on top.
