I think it depends on length of time car will be in storage. For 3-4 months, I do not think temperature makes a big difference. Key is that tank is topped off and car is run once in a while so that fuel moves through carb.
Here is what I do: I like to completely fill-up tank as late in season as I can - usually early December. I start car whenever weather allows and let it reach operating temperature. I try to do this at least every three weeks during the winter. I then try to get car out on the road as soon as possble in spring. With this routine, I do not think Stabil is needed.
Modern gasoline is actually quite good at not varnishing. Biggest issue with the new E10 that we have in many areas is that the ethanol separates from the gas after it sits. The 2 gallong gas can I use for the mower is no problem as I can just mix it up again and the mower starts fine in the spring. But if you have a full tank in a car I don't know how you'd mix it? Once the pure ethanol hits the carb I'd think it would stall and not restart?

I've been using E10 for about 20 years. My car gets stored for up to six months per year. I've never used any 'stabil' or any other miracle juice.
The car always starts first turn of the key when coming out of storage.

How about that.
every carb i've ever seen would be dried out after 6 mos.
i let my 67 sit 17 months, filled the bowl and it started right up. that was in 89. now it sat 1 year and the gas turned sour, ruined the tank, fuel line and pump. carb is fine as i ran it 'til it died. gas has changed over the decades. past is no prediction of the future. drain the tank to be safe.
I think that it's called phase separation once this happens the gas cannot be salavaged on a two stroke the oil separates and will not mix. when I was learning first hand I put some in a clear jug shook it and oil would separate within about a minute not good for a outboard

You live in Florida. I live in Quebec. The difference forms a perfect answer to the OP's question.
I've had cars sit long periods and never had a problem, nor used stabil. But the carb seals/gaskets can dry out, shrink and the needle can stick closed. So, it would be a good preventative measure to start it periodically.
