Default windshield support clip?

On my 72 there are 2 clips with coated ends that the bottom of the windshield rests on. Anyone know what these are called and where to get them?

They're easy enough to make...was hoping to just get new ones.

I thought I found them from a vendor once...they were very different in the picture than what I've got, but seemed like they would work. Now I can't find them.

I'll check my old cowl tomorrow, not sure if the '68 is the same though.

If DZ is out.. Call Contemporary Corvette. They are a bone yard and will probably have some on an old cowl...... I knew it... I threw away eight old cowls two years ago in an effort to clean up the back lot.... Big mistake... three of them were 69's!

Just curious, did every car come with them? I cleaned my windsheild frame up spotless and found no place for these clips to screw in on my 72. Does anybody have a pic?

Rob,

Here ya go... One on each side of course... I plan to take mine off, clean them up, then dip the end in that stuff used to coat the handles of tools etc...if it needs it once they are all clean.

Thanks Rob, there isn't a hole for that at all. Strange. I thought that it should have been there.

My '68 doesn't have anything like that on it.

It does have 2 plastic pieces riveted on to the cowl that are sort of T-shaped, I'll post a picture if I can get my batteries charged.

Hi DZ,
I believe the 2 plastic tees are stops for the wiper door mechanism. MS72's picture shows one in the right of the picture.
Regards,
Alan
