I have 2 copies.......the original is kept at home, the repro copy is kept in the car. (The repro is very good, can't tell the difference from the original.)
If it is 'original' to that car (came with the car or, at least, produced that year), keep it in a safe place. Any of the reproduction documents are easily replaced and can be kept in the car if you want.
I keep my originals with all the other original paperwork in my safe. However I managed to find a original on ebay and keep it in the safe as well. I have repro's in the cars.
I would find it hard to believe that the original owners manual to my 79 would have any real value, therefore it sits in the glove box, right where it was intended to be.

Many of us with "original" owners manuals actually have repros..
My personal rule is, if the car is more than 30 years old I keep the owners manual in my den. If the car is less than 35 years old I keep the owners manual in the glove compartment.

What do you do with the ones that are between 30 and 35 years old? Your post contradicts itself. I think you meant 30 years in each sentence.
