Default defroster conversion

okay guys i need some help with this. Is there anything i can buy that will keep my windows defrosted with out the use of the "heater/air-conditioning" switch panel. maybe something small that you can mount inside of the defroster spots of the dash. or something small you can mount near the windows, that all you need to do is click it on

This is not what you are asking for, but Rain-X makes a product to prevent fogging of your windshield. I have used it and it actually works pretty well.. I think its called Fog-X, but any auto parts store will probably carry it.

Sure would be easier than a hardware mod, if it works for you!! Just have to reapply periodically..

In my old Cutlass hot rod I used a Mojave street rod heater with the defroster add on. It's a small heater/fan you can mount under the dash and just wire to a speed selector it comes with. While it worked great for me in a street/strip car it won't make a very elegant install in a nice car but that's your call.

Theres a cream at scuba diving stores that they apply to the mask but its kind of expensive. If your windows dont have tint, try putting shaving cream on them and rub it in like you're waxing. Then just wipe it off after a while with a dry cloth. Sounds like something BUBBA would do but it works.

its not exactly small, but I know they make defrosters that just plug into the cigarette lighter. I know Wal-Mart sells them.

Why not get the stock heat/defrost system working?

I think it would fit but you'd be removing the stock vent hoses etc to make room.

Here's the heater-Heater
And here's the defrost plenum- Defrost

Sir

with all do respect, Bubba has a hand held hair blowdrier that is 12 volts and sold in camping supply catalogs, it will have dual functions for you if you can handle the embaressment. "Try to fix the stock system" play with it . do a little each week it's worth it !
