Default Interior Resto Question

I'm still working on my '79 frame off and I need opinions on what to do about the interior paint. Everthing is structurally sound and looks pretty good, but I want to make sure there isn't a problem in the future. I just need ideas on how to finish the floor, the tunnel, under the dash, and the rear storage.

You might look up POR-15 ? A friend of mine used it on the complete interior, engine compartment and underside of his nova. It seems to be a very hard durable finish. I used 3-m rubberized undercoating in aerosol cans on my nova. I'm near that point on this car but I have not thought about what I was gonna do with it. I would say anything that might help with sound deadening and/or temp reduction would be good. Maybe I might use both and then some matt on top of that.

I stripped the interior out of my 72 and the interior was painted body color - which stands to reason since it went through the paint booth without anything inside it. It was not a "finished" look as in not glossy. Most of it is covered or doesn't show to the average person - unless you're crawling under the dash or in the back and looking hard.

I covered the floor, tunnel, rear compartment with insulation to cut down on heat and noise. I used Reflectix from Home Depot. Looks like bubble wrap with foil on both sides. I glued it down. Then I put in new carpet with the jute backing.

When I restored my interior, I coated the floorpan with POR-15. I coated top and bottom. It's messy stuff, but the floorpan will never see rust again! After that, I covered the entire interior with insulation. Then I put it all back together. Alot of work, but worth it!!

'79s have factory applied sound deadener/sealer on the interiors. You'll see it when you get the carpet out.

The floor sound deadener is still in relatively good shape and the floor itself is in really good condition. I just was thinking about possible future problems creeping up and thought that maybe the floor area could look a bit better. I know it won't be seen, I'm just being annnnnal.
I was considering POR-15 on the underside anyway.
