suggestions wanted for side vent mod
I'm looking for a better screen material than what I've mocked up here. Any suggestions?

You might look at this stuff- smaller pattern. I used on the wife's BMW to replace the plastic front lower grill that was broken.
Lowes -Home Depot Galvanized gutter guard material

Yes, thank you Richard. I'll check that out. Ideally, I would like machined circles rather than a weave pattern.

They have all types of perforated sheets. I used a heavy stainless mesh.

If ya go to Lowes, they also have a small section with some steel angle, round dowels and diamond plate sheet, also there are some sheets of stuff like in your pic that could be used for grills, 2-3 different types/styles

Stainless steel material is a much better choice than galvanized or aluminum. Either of the latter choices will oxidize and corrode with time.

Stainless is my first choice. I'm planning on stopping at Lowes to see what they have before I order anything from McMasterCarr.

I checked while I was in there this morning, my lowes had the crossed wire and what they call on that website, cane hole something.. I think you want the round hole stuff in stainless, that would look cool stainless or painted black
