I have an extra hood that I would like to paint to match my black '77. Paint code 19L. Original laquer paint. My question is, what brand and type of paint currently available will match the original paint the best? Is this even poss.? Thanks, mds...
Hi mds,
PPG still makes acrylic lacquer. It may or may not be availible in your area depending on local EPA rules. It can be mixed to match your paint code.
Regards,
Alan
An original paint car? Or a lacquer repaint? In either case NICE!!!!
Thanks Alan. I have been told that current laquer is not what it once was but I have not sprayed any since the 80's. You may be right about EPA regs. here in the Dallas market. I will keep looking into it. Yes, car is original '77 paint, not perfect anymore but too good to repaint, picture is from aug. 09. Thanks again, mds...
