Default Q-jet decoding question?

Ok I have two questions about my 69 manual transmission corvette q-jet carb.. First Looks like all is ok except for the last digit. Right or wrong? It's my understanding even numbers are for automatic's. Mine should have an odd number for the last digit.

Secondly is the 4 digit's under these the Date code?? 3044. Can someone de-ciefer this for me. Here's a picture.

That was originally for a '69 Chev truck, 49 state emissions with auto trans. and is a service replacement unit built on the 304th day of 1974.

If it runs fine leave it alone. Which engine do you have in your '69?

Your carb is a 1969 Chevy Truck 350 carb used on auto trans applications. However, keep in mind that GM mixed and matched auto and manual carbs on the assembly line, and was not consistent in the odd/even number application with the carbs and trannies. I think if they ran out of carbs in one barrel-o-carbs, they used the carbs out of the next barrel rather than stop the assembly line.

The truck carb will work fine for your application. You may find that it is a tad lean for a performance application, but start with the stock jetting for the carb number and jet from there based on what your engine needs.

Thanks guys. I knew the cast # should have ended in the 207 but the date code fooled me. I was thinking the last digit was for the year (and it is) "3044" but it also had the 7029 which meant 69. What you guys are saying it was manufactured in 74 for a 69 chevy truck. It seems to run fine but I may put this on my list of swap meet finds for the future.
Thanks again.
