date codes on my glass

Default date codes on my glass

i checked my codes , strange. windshield and pass glass is dated june 1970. drivers glass and convertible window are both Jan. 1970. almost all parts on car so far are june and early july. i know for a fact none of the glass has been replaced. is this common ?

Usually most of the codes are tighter, but its not all that uncommon for that much of a spread. NCRS wouldnt blink at it, I dont think. I had a door glass that was 5-6 months at one point.

Well....tell us.....whats the build date on your engine pad & what is the date on your trim tag...............????

Hi BBK,
For the convertible top rear window date, I believe 12 months before build date is considered acceptable.

Up to a year old is nothing to get excited about. The glass manufacturer made stuff in batches I was told.

Sounds like a 70 and a late production car at that. It's possible they were clearing out existing stock at the plant as the production year wound down, a couple of pieces of which had January codes on them.
