You should probably replace the entire front clip and yes that hood is incorrect. The side view mirror is incorrect as well.

i see a wing spoiler in the back, that has to go, in replacing the hood to stock, i see the entire wiper door mechanism is gone.. that is an expensive and complicated project in itself... then don't forget the 5K ( at least) paint job.

My guess you are looking at a pretty expensive project to return it to the right parts.
New front clip
$2,500
Bonding Adhesive $120.
Wiper door parts $500.
Paint and remove rear spoiler $5,000 +
Hood- $200-$1,000 depending on if it is a 427 or a 350 hood
Bumpers and brackets- $800
Mirrors- $75
And probably a lot more that we can't see.

Unless this is some rare 69, you should look for a different car if you want an original 69.

Wow 1 post since you joined in 2005. I'll bet if you decide to return this car to a 69 you will be posting more often.

Are you sure it's a '69? Certainly the entire front end has been replaced. It seems the back end is post-chrome bumper too from what I can see.

Got more pics?

Possibly. Fenders at the windshield look '69, including the painted trim. Poor fit of the long hood on each rear corner tends to support the 80-82 clip and hood installed on a 68-72 car.

Looks like nice work, but a major PITA to get back to stock.

I'm pretty sure I can see the straight back window and the rear view mirror doesn't appear mounted to the glass.

Looks to me like a '74-'77 rear end with a spoiler?

More pics please.

If you want a '69, sell that and buy one done. It's gunna cost a lot of time and money to put that back - as me how I know.

Why did you buy the car if you wanted an original '69? If you got it 'dirt cheap', clean it up and resell it for a profit...then buy a '69. Converting it with different body panels will return it to its '69 appearance, but it will never again be 'original', no matter how much money you throw at it. And it will cost more (time and materials) to convert it than to sell that one and buy what you really want...IMO.

Now we're talking. Looks like a '69 with an 80-82 nose. Lower front fenders are 73-79. Rear fenders could be 70-73. Still a PITA to get back to '69, especially if the PO did not keep all the various '69 goodies.

hi

thanks for all the info,

i'm located in ireland, not much chance in selling the car in the current economic climate or trading etc.

probably gonna TRY and change her back to a 69, well close enough.

would you recommend leaving the rear as is?

anyone know wheres best to purchase the parts needed?
