Hi All,
I always enjoy people's pictures of snow.... today I FINALLY have 2 pictures of my own back yard. We rarely get this kind of snow in Maryland till after Christmas.
I wish I could post a picture of my 71 IN the snow.... but I just can't do it. Maybe someday!
I'll bet our Canadian friends see this ALL the time.
Regards,
Alan
You see where it was snowing in Texas and Arizona? That's
When I was in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA (Southern California) I seen it snow, it blew my mind; they said it was due to a bad hurricane at the time that caused it.
Anyway, I remember I was on the I-5 southbound heading to base and seen the CHP all over and some were standing on the sides of the highway waving for people to slow down which I thought was odd until I seen the roughly mile long stretch of snow covered highway and about 25-30 cars scattered in the median and off the sides of the highway...was quite a site to see, however I was born and raised in Ohio so it wasn't anything new to me.

Looks like you got quite a bit more than we did Alan. Went to bed last night around midnight, walked the dog just before bed and there was nothing on the ground. Woke up this morning and there was about 1-2 inches on the ground. Right now, there is nothing on the ground.
I took some pics but have yet to upload them to photobucket.
Nice pictures. Kinda looks like old black and white shoots.
Nothing yet in this part of Maine- a few inches tonight they say.
Actually went for a little ride today, (a first for December). A ride to winter storage.
I was just thinking, for those of us who get snow, has anyone actually drove their 'vette out in the snow?
I don't think I'd have the ***** to try it, but i'd imagine it would be all over the place. I haven't even drove mine in the rain so I have no idea how bad it would be.
The older I get, the more I DETEST the snow. It makes life so much more difficult. It's crap to drive on. You have to scrape it off your car. It buries things in your yard, to be lost until spring. You have to move it around, from one place to another, with a scoop on a stick. It's just crap, all the way around.
I know we need snow for the water levels and such, but hey....can't it snow up high and be great down low?? For those that WANT the snow...let them drive to it, and let the rest of us dry-land lubbers be! I'm just counting down the days until warm weather.
PS...I'm just bitter because it was beautiful yesterday, and I awoke this morning to snow. Grrrrr!
It snowed here in Central Florida back in 1977. My grandmother has a picture of a small (3 foot) snowman they made. It took all the snow in the front yard to make it.
Snowing in Texas????? I am flying out there tomorrow to finish Snowmans' car (no pun intended). And I was hoping to leave the cold MA weather for some nice warmth......
I guess I will just have to sand harder to warm myself up. I know Doug has A/C in the garage, but I hope he had heat too

Hey Alan, now it's not OT anymore.
Back in the mid 1970's, I had two cars. My daily driver was a 69 GTO, and my other car was a 70 BB 4spd Corvette. I drove through a lot of snow in the GTO, but only had the Corvette out a few times in the snow. As I remember, it was all fun and no problems.
Alan, looks like we got about 5" or so here, it has been snowing all day.

That's a switch go south for the snow, it hasn't snowed up here yet although it is in the forcast. Buffalo did get about 6" and I'm about 45 miles N-W of there

I've had a bunch of daily drivers but my 66 was actually pretty good in the snow. The 80 was the worst with the built in snow plow.
Nice pics Alan pretty place you have there, got some snow here in NY today guess that"s the last time the vette and bike go till spring it's
not the snow that bothers me it's all the salt they throw on the road.
Actually it's the snow to, the winters are to long. Florida here I come.

Snow was yesterday in Doug's area- over now. New earliest on record Dec.4. Previous record was Dec. 10 twice. Actually snowed on Christmas Eve 2004.
I have been up north in snow in the Vette- went all over & found plenty of snow- no problems.
We got our first snow today, called for about 3 inches when it's all said & done.
I drove the vette to work yesterday knowing this was headed my way and wouldn't get any driving in over the weekend.
