I did it this summer. Used a generic two door lock kit and installed the actuators parallel to the lower rod, attached to the bellcrank. I have it set up to be controlled by my alarm so that the car locks and unlocks with the alarm arm/disarm.
Sorry for no pics, there are some floating around the forum. Hardest part of the job was feeding the wire harnesses through the rubber conduits between the door and the frame.
Mine also came with a module that is supposed to unlock/lock both with the keys. Passenger side will not unlock driver's side and also wiring was mislabelled but I worked it out. That is what you get for buying cheap off FleaBay.
Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for. I've had a problem with the lock and even after changing rods and locks it will sometimes act up. I"m ready to try power with less manual parts tolerance issues.
If you have a linkage/binding problem, adding a solenoid may or may not resolve it. If the binding is resistant enough, it might just overwork the actuator solenoid. At least, while you are working in the door, clean it all out and regrease it with white lithium [tube] grease.
