Hey barebones...That is one "slick" body. I love it man !!
I think you made a great buy. It's going to be one fun ride
I like everything about it except the rear wings that imo, go too far . That being said, get that smoooooth body pretty'd up and ya got yerself a winner of a fun ride.
My guess is that it's a one off custom done maybe in the late 70's. Looks like a stock front bumper from a '75 and up (?) and the rest is a mixture of aftermarket 'glass like the hood and front clip. The rear end is a new one on me.
Looks like a former owner belonged to a club for kit cars and replicas. Maybe send them a note, they might have some history.
Maybe my eyes are failing me but, are there holes in the front fenders just in front of the doors for badges (Stingray)?
Your correct on your assesment there are Stingray badges that have been removed.
The person I got this from was going to repaint and took them off,they come with the car and also the original side pipes.
Give it a really classy paint job and it will get lots of interest (both good and bad). Purists won't like it...but the custom work appears to be done well. Hopefully the rest of the car is in good condition and doesn't need a lot of repair.
Thanks 7T1vette;
The guy I bought it from put it on ebay without reserve and said when I called him after the auction that he had almost twice what I paid for it in the car.There is a link up the page to the auction on ebay..if interested
Again Thanks
