Default Grant Steering Wheel

I'm looking into getting a new steering wheel for my 74 vette and was looking at the grant classic nostalgia steering wheel has anybody installed this on their vette? Does it really require the grant installation kit? It looks like the original steering wheel that's why I ask if the kit is needed.

I have no idea but I really like that wheel!

I see them on ebay from time to time. I wonder if the wheel can be screwed to the Chevy hub and use all the stock horn pieces.

Default Got One

This is a very nice wheel, I have one on a 65 chevy truck. The rim is thicker and the dish is deeper, but it looks nice on my truck. I think the vette horn button is too wide.

Grant makes some st. wh. w/ leather 791 or wood 794 that are a direct bolt on which is the best way to do it.
I put the Grant black leather one on my Corvette a long time ago. It has polished slotted spokes & a very shallow dish which moves it closer to the dash. Nice, direct bolt on. Ideal, esp. if one is tall.

I like the way the classic nostalgia steering wheel looks and have had my eye on it for some time know. I think it's going to have to be a gift for the vette this Christmas day. I'm going to order it without the installation kit, and if I need it I'll just go get it from Kragen/O'reilly.

The Grant wheel has a deep dish mount. So if your mid section is not up to snuff "fat azz and stomach". You may have trouble getting in and out of the car.

I'm fairly short at 5'8" and at 214lb. I don't think I should have any problems getting in and out of the car.

I've had one out in the garage for about 10-12 years, used it on a 65 for about a year before I found an original mid-year steering wheel, I thought it looked very nice just wanted an original, this style will look good on your 74 if you do end up buying one, I may have a picture of it on the 65 if you want to see how it looks on a car.

Can you please post that pic? So did you use the installation kit? Thank you

What is the diameter of the stock steering wheel on a 74? The Grant 791 (which I like very much) is 14 3/4". I was just wondering if that is slightly smaller then the original.

My Grant listed as 14" is about 13 1/2".

I have the same mahogany Grant wheel on my '77 as well.
Love it.
