might be shooting myself in the foot by posting this here but im sure somehave seen it....interested to know if you guys feel this is worth the price?...free shipping so thats always a plus but i would fly up and take her for a spin if i went this direction...let me know what you guys think....all info is much appreciated!!!
mate its about as perfect as an 81 gets going on the pictures... they are only pics and there is nothing showing the undercarriage but it looks good. i love the interior colour of tan, i dont like exterior white and i dont like the beige pinstriping effects on the body. .....as for the price...the buyer is certainly paying for every minute of someones time to restore it....just a hunch but did you restore it to sell from the beginnning?

yea it looks good in pictures...and youre right...dont know what teh rest looks like...its not mine (i think thats hw im understanding your post?)...
hhmmm rebuilt at 19000...good question....it doesnt have glass t-tops...the video they posted shows the tops looking the same as the body paint...
what should i look for in these cars?....i wouldnt want to buy something that i have to put tons of money into it because things keep breaking...regular maintenance im ok with but fixing left and right im not...
long story short...corvette = my dream car...been wanting one for a long time...im 28...have a sedan (modified jetta) which i love and am having issues parting with...if i traded her in and got a new c6...i lose the convenience and practicality of having a sedan...and i cant have best of both worlds...or so it seems...so i started thinking about it and was wondering if buying an older nicely kept corvette would be a better choice...i can 1) keep my sedan and practicality...and 2)own my dream car....any other thoughts on this? or options i should maybe consider?
i want to stay around the 15k range if possible...doesnt have to be an 81...but definitely looking for something clean...preferably white on black leather...something i dont have to dish out money to restore or take to a shop on a regular basis to make it run...regular maintenance pay is fine...i would put probably around 100-200 miles on it per month possibly...

to answer one of the questions from before as far as the restoration at 19k miles...heres the response i got from the seller:
"Hi, it's not an actual mileage car. Probably 119,000 miles. Full photo documentation book goes with it. Definitely one of the nicest 81's on the market anywhere. We are getting a ton of action on this beautiful Vette and it should be sold in the next few days...
My take on the original '81. Expensive. Why restore everything and leave the nasty carpet (maybe just the floor mats...but either way)? A $50 set of stickon faux wood trim console pieces doesn't justify the price. Oh...and maybe it's just the angle or shadows or something, but it seems like the 2 exterior pictures showing the car from the front angle (pictures 1 and 5) that there are some alignment issues between the front clip and doors?? Not sure...but I'd check it closely. I wouldn't be suprised if the full documentation that comes with it is the operators manual.

good catch...seems like that place wants to sell it off or is selling it off fairly quick...which is fine...im not in a rush...its not going to be an impulse purchase but that one i found was a starting point for me...
also...what are "issues" to look for on this model?...anything specific that i should consider or worry about while looking?...
also...just for you guys since you are all wise individuals as i have seen on this forum ....is my logic ok with keeping my sedan and getting an older vette as a second car?...should i just go ***** to the wall and forget about practicality and deal with a c6 as my only car?...i go round and round about this in my head and always get stuck on the practicality piece lol
