Here is what greeted me this morning when I opened up the garage. There is a Trailblazer under all that snow. My daughters Saturn is under the other pile. The reading we got was 23.8 inches next town over so I'm going to say 2 feet. The township really does not have the equipment or knowledge on how to deal with this much snow. It stopped last night and I did not see a plow until 4PM today. They made 2 passes and there is still 4 inches on the street.
But they did hire 1200 people to shovel out the stadium for the Eagles game today! Amazing how they can do that but not plow the street.
If it does they'll just hire a couple hundred people to shovel the place out. They do the same thing at Gillette Stadium if it snows before a Patriots game.
I was more concerned about my flight in from Chicago for the game!

Gordon that snow looks awsome......we still havent had a plow on our street yet......a couple of the neigbors with 4x4s are trying to drive all over the road to flatten down the high spots, but no work tomorrow and no snow so i guess we just wait it out......
Wow look at all that snow. Looks like a white Christmas to me! Being a Southern California guy we never get snow. Looks like a lot of work digging out! Like others have said, be safe. Oh, and Merry Christmas!

Wow, you guys got hammered. Good luck negotiating any travel, short or long distance. Hope the "snow-newbies" around you dont slide into your stuff if you do have to go out.
Thank God for snow blowers. I love my Ariens for days like these...!

Stay Safe and Stay Warm, all of you affected.
It was a classic Nor'easter......basically a winter hurricane, that came up the coast and picked up the moisture from the ocean and dumped it over the east coast from the Carolina's to New England.
All roads were cleared and easy to travel on by Sunday night. The local roads still have some compacted ice/snow on them.
....now if i can figure out how to get to the vette in the garage????
I usually just open the garage door, drive the car right in, and close the door behind it.
Looks like I got off easy compared to a lot of you guys. I think we only got 10", 12" at the most, but hard to tell with the drifting. I had a snowblower that was almost as old as my 'vette, but I couldn't get parts any more to fix it, so I ditched it last spring at our junk day. Just as I was starting to shovel, my neighbor showed up with his snow blower and did my whole driveway for me. That earned him a six-pack of Smuttynose IPA!
I think it is safe to say my car is in for winter storage, she hasn't seen the road since 11/29. That's OK though, we should be skating on our backyard rink tomorrow. I walked on it this morning, but it has some surface issues I think I can fix tonight. Happy Winter!!!!
Damn, I feel like we got off real easy. Only about a foot at my house, but we haven't seen snow like that since 96. I actually had a legitimate use for the 4wheel drive in my Grand Cherokee.

Highest property taxes in the nation; highest car insurance rates in the nation; highest hospital costs in the nation; corruption that makes Huey Long look like a choir boy. Why would anyone voluntarily want to move here?
(But if you're determined to do it I have a beautiful house with an oversized two car garage in Forked River that I'll be putting on the market after the holidays).

well my taxes in Arlington Va exceed my Spring lakes taxes! my car insurance is less in VA no question about that....my food budget has at least doubled since moving to VA. maybe even more, lets not even talk about all the other services... i havent noticed any higher health costs, but the Drs in NJ actually cared about the people here there is so many customers some of the Drs are real jerks...i like southern monmouth county and look forward to moving back.
