Diy will not be cheap either. You can rebuild a vac system for less than the electric conversion. I have done the electric to my 73 and it works the same as the original vac. system on my 77. Only at a diffrent rate of speed.

Someone did a conversion a while back using Camaro/Firebird motors. Search the archives of the Corvette magazines. One of them did an article on the conversion; can't recall whether if was Corvette Fever or Vette.

The $999 kit is way over priced. Do a search for "Killer Lights" and you will find a kit that allows you to utilize C4/F-body electric motors. Much better design.

Only reason to convert is if your engine doesn't produce enough vacuum.
