I am looking into purchasing a complete carpet set for my 74 and have been looking around on many sites. Has anybody ever ordered a carpet set from Willcox, and how long did it take to arrive? Also, did the color match the rest of your interior? I need it as soon as possible as I only have about three to four weeks left to work on the car.
Ernie is on here all the time...I think I would call him and ask for a shipping time frame as opposed to getting opinions on what "may" happen. I think if he has it in stock and you tell him you are in a hurry he will make sure you get it ASAP.
I have carpet from Willcox in my 77. It came quick right from the vender. Great quality and great fit. As far as color match my old carpet was so worn out I was unable to tell what original color was. I have been a very satisfied willcox customer.
If you ordered carpet on Monday it would ship on Tuesday! You didn't say what year you had or cut pile or 80/20 but you can view the carpet sample pictures here. All colors are verified colors so I don't think you'll have a problem with match. Please keep in mind the color shade on this picture will vary based on the resolution settings of your computer.
I have carpet from Willcox that I installed over the summer. Very quick service and everything showed up as it should. They are a great company to do business with.

A) The interior code from the door panel.
B) From the existing seat covers.
C) The dooor panels, do they have carpet on the bottom
D) personal preference.
If the car has leather seat covers in it, then the door panels would have carpet on the bottom and this is deluxe interior. Deluxe interior had cut pile carpet. Now if someone changed the seat covers or the door panels then you would have to go with the code from the car.
If the car has vinyl seat covers and no carpet on the bottom of the door panels, then this is a car that would use 80/20 carpet and is considered standared interior.
The above held true from 1970-1976. In 1977 all cars left the factory with cutpile and deluxe interior.
There is also a chance someone may have changed the door panels from deluxe to standard and we see this ll the time.. It's probalby best to use the seat covers as a reference.
