Default lets settle this again

When talking about ordering parts. Right hand side of car = passenger side. Left hand side of car = driver's side.

Is this a question?? If so you are right on! "Sides" are determined as if you are sitting in the car (facing forward of course)

Got off the phone with a guy that I sold a headlight housing to. He wanted the right hand side. He called and said I sent him the wrong side. I then asked him if it was drivers side or passinger side. He said drivers side. I said then that would be the left hand side. He said it all depends on where you stand. I reluctantly conceded that it was poor communication and agreed to pay shipping one way if he sends the RIGHT HAND side back. PS. It's a Great Dane , We love her PSS. I sent him a picture beforehand of what I sent him !

What if you're in Australia, where the steering wheel is on the other side and the water swirls down the drain in the opposite direction?

To me it is obvious that if you are going to slip into the "right side/ left side" lingo, you should be consistent and refer to the sides as if you were sitting in the car, so "left" is ALWAYS the driver's side. (In the USA) However, it is not hard, especially for the slow-witted, to look at the tail lights and get the sides correct, ie left side is drivers side, but then they go to the front of the car and get it wrong by looking straight at the headlights and calling the one on the right the "right side" even tho it is the driver's side. Same problem can happen with wiper blades.

You are being generous! If he said he needed the right side, it's on him. He is the one that stated what he wanted - not your fault HE got it backwards. I think the responsibility is on him to get it right. If he was unsure, he should have asked.

JMHO!

That's the problem, I am sure he was very sure! If you don't know you don't know...

Hi,
Parts that come in pairs are numbered so that those for the right side have a part # that ends in an EVEN digit while parts for the left side end in an ODD digit. This is VITAL information to no one!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Regards,
Alan
