This piece on the B-cage (the metal lip). Is it supposed to be on the inside of the lower corner bonding strip (like in this pic below)...or is it supposed to be pulled to the outside lip of the bonding strip? I remember reshaping it a while back, and I might have made a mistake on where it is supposed to sit. I'm trying to fit my stinkin front end right now

I believe it is outside---not inside.

Maybe these pics will help.

I'm going out on a line here, but I think I recall the metal tab being on the outside.

My car is not here so I can't tell you for sure. Sorry

Kind of. I'm very upset with myself right now. I think I cut way too much off the front fender, now I'm gonna have to reglass it. More god damn work on my shoulders. Building a car all by yourself is friggen tough.

Ian, how about this piece at the bottom of the B-cage. Is the fender (where the rocker molding goes) supposed to line up right with the bottom of the door? The edge right where it goes horizontal and becomes the recess for the molding...

Geez...Why can't you ask for pictures of the under the body?

These ones were hard to find

I think the bottom of the door need to line up with the bottom of the fender.

Can you raise the door any?

On mine it was inside, the metal piece is part of the windshield frame. Forms the water channel to keep water away from the door frame. The weather strip attaches to it IIRC. Here's a few pics:

As far as the bottom of the clip lining up with the door...Mine was just like yours. I looked at alot of pix on the forum and there are plenty of Vettes with that problem. I reworked mine by building up a few layers of glass and using filler to re-contour it. Came out nice.

Hi S,
Here's a couple The front clip was never off the car.
The roll at the bottom of the fender does match the roll on the bottom of the door.
Regards,
Alan
