Just run a new heavy gauge wire from the purple wire that is hot where you jumped it and that should work. Just run a wire right now to test it out. Good luck. Sounds like Bubba the electrician was there.

Last post for me tonight. but go over to the C3-Tech/Perf section and look for the "Whats This" post. About 5 down 75' posted a link to wiring diagrams which I think are much better than the Haynes manual.

I jumped the purple and white striped wire from the battery and the car started. I did this where the wire came out of the ignition switch. I thought the switch was bad so I replaced it, Still no start. When I turn the switch to start The voltmeter goes pegged to the minus. Possible Short?
