Does your car have a factory underhood light? My 79 does, and it gives off a helluva lot of light. I'd think with all your chrome it would do a a pretty good job of lighting up the engine.

No, It's an aftermarket hood.If I run wiring for the original light I might as well try to install some type of custom lighting.I just want to hopefully get something that is resistant to engine heat.

i have seen double stick led lights at night cruises that are round maybe 3-4" in diameter & stick on to the underside of the hood / lighting up the entire engine bay, usually 3-4 of these small powerfull battery op LED's work great.......

i'm sure you could attatch with velcro & remove them before closing the hood for a ride...easy on & easy off / they are small m/ plastic & very light......yet extreemly bright...........i'll keep my eyes peeled for ya !!!
