I want to light up my engine bay with some type of custom engine lighting system.something bright that is durable to vibration and engine heat. Anyone have any ideas or links???
I have two of these (although not for your purpose) no wires, no modifications, low profile, hook/stick it to the underside of your hood when you get to the show and you'll be able to change the plugs at midnight with no moon... it's pretty bright and a little bigger than a CD.
I can not help you with your quest to illuminate your engine bay. However I would like to convey my appreciation for all the chrome.
That is just awesome, do you have more photos?
Led strips under the hood ledge is my plan. they come in red, blue and white. dont know how there gonna hold up but will keep you posted. (not going to be back together for a few months tho).
I used a set of LED's for my Harley tail light. They are pretty bright but add a resistor or rheostat and you can make it as dim as you want. It was about $20 for a strip of 24.

A strip or two hidden under that lip on your air breather may work well. I have seen a lot of them used on motorcycles and they look best when there hidden up under stuff and you just see the light shining on the chrome with out accually seeing the lights. A red "glow" would look killer with all that chrome.

Are those strip battery or wired operated? sound like something I might want to try.
