Default 68 corvette front bumper question

Hey Guys,
Below the front bumper there are two vertical bumper guards, one on the left and one on the right. Each has a little **** that's designed to look like it flows into the moulding located below the grille. On the left side on my car there as about a 3/8" gap between the **** and the moulding (not a good look!) and on the right side the end of the moulding overlaps the **** (an even worse look!) I don't have access to any other vette to checkout (here in Minnesota most everyone has them in storage) so I was wondering if anybody knew what the correct installation should look like? Is there any adjustment in the bumper guard or moulding attachment?
Thanks for your feedback

Guess my feeble attempt to post a picture didn't work. I have the picture in photobucket, any suggestions how to get it pasted into this post? Thanks!

You should be able to adjust the mounting of the guards to make it look better.
The moulding is a fixed mount and does not move.
It outta be apparant how to loosen and adjust the guards a bit.

Actual fit can vary from car to car. What you want is to get them essentially the same on each side.

Heres a larger photo of the front... and the bumper should clear about 5/16 in. on each side and across the front. The rest should go together by assembling and tightening the parts together...None of these pictured front end chrome parts/pieces have ever been removed... and they are factory clearances....just follow Mike and Canino`s suggestion

Great info guys, thanks alot. Looks like I may have to oblong the bumper guard mounting holes alittle bit to make it work.

Thanks for the help. I got the picture to work, I'll even make it the right size next time!!!!!
