Seat belt retractor exploded!
I was working on my 78's alarm system today and heard a loud "pop, twang" from the passenger side t-top.
I removed the rear seatbelt panel and there it was, a very large tangled mass of spring steel. The passenger seat belt retractor exploded!
Anybody got a red passenger seatbelt with retractor?

You just need another [matching] retractor that is in better condition. Your red belt material can be sewn onto the other belt end so that the webbing matches what you have now. Just take the replacement retractor and the remainder of your present one to a racing seat belt fabricator or an auto upholstery shop. Stitching the two belts together will be no weaker than the end buckle being stitched to it. And the stub end of the 'replacement unit' belt has never seen any sunlight to cause it to weaken. It's a $15 fix and a no-brainer of a repair.
