Default Right Side Door Mirror

How many of you guys have right rear view mirror on your 74 or older vettes? Did 74 Vettes come with a right side mirror, or did they all come with just the driver side mirror? Any pics with both?

It was a dealer option, not factory.

I was thinking of installing one, but I'm not sure yet. By the way, those are some nice looking Vette.

My '74 coupe had a pair of sport mirrors installed. I've always wondered where they came from.

I have both on mine and would recommend it. One it looks more balanced and two, adds to your safety.

That's the main reason why I want to add the mirror. For safety purposes. I'm in Oakland, Ca. and there is always lots of traffic, both on the streets and in the freeway.

I bought one but just couldn't do it. Sometimes it would be nice to have that other mirror, but it just doesn't look right to me.

Have both on my '68. Never checked the date code to see if the RH was original. I'll have to look the next time I'm in the garage!

One came with my car...in the box...how hard is it to put on?

Let me clarify that statement. I just bought the car and the owner gave me the new mirror in the box. No, its not 37 years old and neither is the box.

When I get around to paint on my 68 vert - it's getting a pair of 77 sport mirrors. I already have them bought.

That mirror should have come with a paper template for the location of the holes in the door. The mount is via rubber well nuts as there is no metal bracket on the inside surface of the door.

That was gonna be my next question, do aftermarket mirrors from, ZIP or Willcox, come with a template? Did anybody get a template with a mirror they purchased?
