Found one in a 71 that I had a few years ago, the spring was a goner (rusted thru) but I still have the hold down bracket, didn't realize they brought that much $$$$$.
Sounds like a bunch of jealous school girls!!!! The seller starts all his auctions at 9.99 usually, no reserve, and he sells the best of the best quality in Vette parts. If you guys don't need the spring, don't worry about it, those of us that do and know we are getting quality, let us be, don't try to figure out why we do what we do, go back to drinking your Milwaukee's Best and leave us alone (oh yeah, when you go to sell your crap, remember to ask top dollar!!)

Jealous?? .....No.
Dumbfounded why someone would pay near $150 for a piece of wire and spring?? .....you bet.
You sound like you have a case of sour grapes to me. How many times did you get robbed on stuff like this on e-bay? Lighten up.
As far as selling stuff goes, maybe that's my problem, I sell stuff for a fair price. Maybe it would go faster if I asked a ridiculous price for it. Then guys like you can say to your rich friends, "Yeah, I paid X amount for this."
Ok, you heard it here first. I'm changing the price of my '82 'Vette to $60K! It's a rare Corvette, less than 100,000 were produced like mine. It came from the factory with no spare and Monza style exhaust. I'll write you a note for proof it came like this.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
