Default Correct Temperature Sending Unit - 69 BB

What is the corect Temperature Sending Unit for 1 69 BB? I see various ones and noticed that one has a straight tip with threads, another just a straight tip (I think this is the correct one for my Lectric Limited wiring harness), then another has a nail head looking thing on the end.

I do want correct readings (as temp is an important issue).

My local auto supply said to use BWD's #WT203 - but it has the nail thing on the end and a black connector. Another vendor said AC Delco G1852 is correct - but it also has the nailhead looking thing on it.

Is there a difference in temp readings? and which one is correct or acceptable to use?

Well I spoke with Lectric Limited and they manufacture their own sending units. Mike gave me a good overview and reasons why they got into the manufacturing of these…. He noted that there were discrepancies with the commonly sold ones in autoparts as well as eth over the counter GM A/C Delco ones. Mike noted that they use a special lubricant inside, yada yada….

LL offers a few variations and mine was #06400759. Ordered it and it will be here Friday….

Oh – he also suggested to not use anything on the threads as it impedes on the connection to the block.

I would be very interested to know how the new sender works out for you. I have two cars that need the same fix. Could you give us a review when complete? Looking to cross off another item off the to do list.
