Default Help with engine #

G'day,
Can anyone please help me identify a Chev engine? The # I have been given is V0622YJA. I only have a "Corvette ID Numbers" book and can't find the YJA suffix there, so guess it's from a passenger car, etc.

I've worked out that the engine was built in Flint on June 22, but as to the year, ????????? I figured that if I could find the suffix, that might give me a year and the type of car in which it was fitted.

The engine is in Australia.

Thanks guys, it's over to you.

Regards from Down Under

Default Thank you

Thanks, Warrior. Further info says that it "MAY" be TJA and it is in a boat. Perhaps it's a marine stamping.

TJA appears twice as a light truck engine.

Check the casting date on the block. You should find a one digit number for the year it was cast. TJA shows as a 73 or 74 truck block.

Default More info

Hey guys,
Thanks for the help. I have more info, it was fitted to a boat with a V-drive and has a casting # 10066036 and "GM HECHO EN MEXICO" cast into it. I forgot about the date casting, it's on the bellhousing flange to the right of the distributor, isn't it?

I'm trying to provide information to a Government department in another state and just want to make sure I get all the info I can, and get it right.

I'll keep watching this space.

That's a current production GM crate motor, made in Mexico. No idea why it would have a Flint assembly code on it though.
