Does anyone have any idea how to trace the history of a 71 vette? I realize Bowling Green does not have records of cars produced at the St Louis plant. As the 3rd owner of my shark, I would really like to find the original dealer the car was purchased from. Thanx for any an all assistance.
I had old titles from previous owners and was able to track 5 of the 6 previous of my car. I used Google and the White Pages to search names and it worked out well. Previous owners were more than willing to talk about their old car and some even sent me old pictures.
Some DMV's may be willing to share info but not here in NJ. Check with the DMV in your state but don't expect much due to most states privacy act.
Start with the second owner and see what he/she recalls of the first owner. Check to see if second owner might have some of the original paperwork for your car.

Hi Steve,
I agree with RMT, IF the tank sticker is there it'll give you the zone and dealer numbers IF they're readable. That at least would be a start.
You might want to think about putting an ad in the NCRS DRIVELINE 'information wanted' section with a description and VIN. Someone might just remember it.
Regards,
Alan
