Thx for your help,

You can't really tell too much from the 4 photos. Looks OK but hard to really tell. Any rust in the frame/birdcage/windshield frame/front top bow? Why 55k miles and a new engine? Why only 55k miles? How has it been stored for the last 40 years-inside/outside/covered? How is the rest of the interior besides the newly covered seats-carpet, dash, console, door panels? How is the top? How is the chrome-new/old/good/pitted? Where are the missing parts like the ignition shielding? Is the paint excellent or just 20 foot? Did they take the car apart or just mask it to paint? Why change the color? How are the brakes-recently redone or original? Does it have a tank sticker or window sticker with it? How about the original block and other engine parts-are they available? How is the suspension? Rear bearings/trailing arms? Driveline? Ever been wrecked? Do the fiberoptics work? Do the wiper door and headlight doors work by vacuum as original? Does everything electrical work? Original radio? If not, did they cut the dash? Does it have a hardtop? Is it power steering (doesn't look like it)? Tilt-n-tele or straight column? Original steering wheel and horn button? Original gauges or aftermarket-especially tach and do they work? Is that an original tach drive distributor or aftermarket or is the tach disconnected? That should get you started.
Hi Brian,
A 69 427 convert is a very valuable car. As soon as the original motor is gone the car loses some of it's value and it's appeal to some people.
If originality isn't of prime importance to you this might be a great car for you.
If you don't know too much about 69 cars I suggest you find someone very knowledgeable to look at the car with you and give you some guidance and a bit of education
I'd think some of the things to determine, as mdtn said... was it a big block car originally, was it a side exhaust car originally and most important... what is the rust situation?
Even though the original motor is gone it would be very good if the things that went along with the big block option are still with the car.
GOOD LUCK!
Regards,
Alan

An original or long time owner can (and probably would) tell you alot about the car's past. Where did the car spent most of its life? Western, dry states will keep rust to a minimum.
And he would probably take $15,000. If it dosent need a total redo or if you want a decent maybe not perfect '69 that's a pretty great price.
Drive it first.
